Reverberate: "Copy target instant or sorcery spell. You may choose new targets for the copy."
Can I cast Reverberate on Devastating Summons?
If I were to play Devastating Summons, in addition to playing it I have to sac lands. When I reverberate the D.summons, do I get 2 more creatures or do i have to sac new lands?

If the spell Reverberate copies has an X whose value was determined as it was cast (like Banefire does), the copy has the same value of X. I would think this would also apply to Devastating Summons. You can't choose to pay any additional costs for the copy, however, effects based on any additional costs paid for the targeted spell are copied as though those same costs were paid for the copy too.

This was from a recent Q/A article on Blackborder Answered by Riccardo Tessitori Original ArticleQuote: Question
I have five lands in play and Devastating Summons and Reverberate in my hand; can I cast Devastating Summons for four and copy it, or is the maximum two since I need to sacrifice again for Reverberate? Answer
You can cast it for 4. When you copy a spell, you are creating a copy of the spell and putting it directly on the stack; you aren’t casting it and therefore you don’t need to pay the additional costs (again).

Reverberate a staggershock and does it get the rebound?
im assuming it does since you are " copying " the spell.

While the copy has rebound, you did not cast the copy from your hand (it was created on the stack), so it will not be cast again next turn.
Plus, what happens to a copy when it is exiled? The same as tokens: they cease to exist, so copies of spells rebounding is very difficult.

More accurately, you're not casting it at all, you're making a copy and putting it on the stack which is the reason you don't have to pay the additional costs for spells like Devastating Summons.
